WSS_content data restore

I'm hoping there is a way to fix this-

2008 server crashed wss3 installed on sqlexrpress db, a repair/parallel
install was done pr3eserving all data in the windows.old directory (this was by
another firm).

the problem is that a sharepoint backup was never done from within Central
admin- nor was it ever dont using stsadmin-

How do I get the data into the new live wss site? if at all possible?
