WSS3 environment

I have a fab 40 template installed in my WSS3 environment. It's the
Call Center one and it's working out fine so far. There is an 'assigned
to' field which is a people picker and in Designer, I want to create a
workflow to email the person selected in that field. I can't seem to
find a solution to get this to work. Can someone please send me a link
or offer some help?
