WSS v3 Search Problem

Asked By: Dominique    Date: Mar 01    Category: Sharepoint    Views: 1405

I need some help tracking down the reason why only one of my sites
can search and return results withing a document library. I believe
it is an account permission problem but cannot identify what account
and what permissions are needed to resolve the issue. Any guidance
would be appreciated.

Configuration:
Equipment:
Server 2003, SQL 2000, web host, domain controller
Server 2003, WSS V3.0

The application event log is displaying warnings and errors that I
cannot find details about.

-------

The start address <site address> cannot be crawled.

Context: Application 'Search index file on the search server',
Catalog 'Search'
Details: The object was not found. (0x80041201)

-------
Type: Error
EvntID: 3355, Category: Database
Cannot connect to SQL Server. <SERVER NAME> not found. Additional
error information from SQL Server is included below.

[DBNETLIB][ConnectionOpen (Connect()).]SQL Server does not exist or

The description for Event ID ( 27745 ) in Source ( Windows SharePoint
Services 3 ) cannot be found. The local computer may not have the
necessary registry information or message DLL files to display
messages from a remote computer. You may be able to use
the /AUXSOURCE= flag to retrieve this description; see Help and
Support for details. The following information is part of the event:
#50071: Unable to connect to the database <ResourceName>_Config on
Server. Check the database connection information and make sure that
the database server is running..
