Is there any way to make WSS work with Sql Server 2000
Enterprise Edition unless the MSDE?

Yes, it will work with SQL 2000 EE SP3.

Great, and what should I do for both work together if I can't point the
WSS database to a Sql Server 2000 Enterprise Edition??

How did you do the installation - with or without MSDE? The administrator guide
for WSS at
www.microsoft.com/.../details.aspx\
-3e33fa13d230&DisplayLang=en talks about this in the "Installation
Considerations for Windows SharePoint Services" section. There is also
information on switching from MSDE to SQL in the "Migrating from WMSDE to SQL
Server" section.
