Wss sp1 installed

I checked Add/Remove Programs to determine which version of MOSS is running. It
shows that SP 1 was installed and 12.0.x is the version. My question
is....shouldn't I also see an entry for WSS 3.0? Or is that assumed since the
WSS service pack has to be installed before the MOSS service pack?

You will only the see the version to which your farm was upgraded. If you have a
MOSS farm then you will not see WSS SP1 listed in those items.
