WSS Search

Asked By: Alexandria    Date: Jan 19    Category: Sharepoint    Views: 564

This might be too obvious of a question, but I was attempting to search within the scope of a single WSS site and was not presented back with any results. Not only does it not return any results, but it does not present me with a page indicating that it worked at all. I took a look at the central administration page and have confirmed that the full-text search and index components are both enabled, so I'm not sure what else needs to be done.

You will open the database, then go to full text indexes. There should be
one. This is what Sharepoint uses to do the fulltext search.

You can also check the Microsoft search  service on the database server.
This service needs to be running, and the account that it runs as must have
rights on the database. (Generally these run as LocalSystem, but if you
have removed builtin\Administrators from the database server or changed the
account, you can see these problems as well.
