WSS Installation (x64)

Asked By: Judson David         Date: Jan 24, 2008      Category: Sharepoint      Views: 172

I just installed WSS 3.0 (x64) on a VM that has a 64 bit OS. When I go to
configure my Search service, the page just sits there and does nothing after I
click the OK button (waiting for over half an hour). When I open a new window
with Central Administration, the service has started and the databases are
created. But then none of the buttons work on the page, i.e., Yes, Ok, Cancel,
No, etc. Without these buttons working, I can't even create my web applications.
Has anybody encounter this problem?

I would unprovision Central Admin, and re-provision. You can re-reun the SP&T
Wizard and DON'T disconnect from farm, but DO uninstall Central Admin. Then, run
the wizard a second time adding it back.

make sure Central Admin is in your Intranet or Trusted Sites first. You could be
having trust issues.
