WSS - Altering template files

Asked By: Geena    Date: Jan 11    Category: Sharepoint    Views: 959

I would like to tailor the look and feel of WSS to make it look part
of our business (rather than an extension of Microsoft)..

simple things like adding company logos, titles etc ..

I can do this very easily retrospectively by using frontpage, but I
would like to be able to alter the main template so that when a user
elects to create a subsite or workspace within the site it
automatically pics up these cosmetic changes...

any pointers on where to start looking..?..

If i am correct you are on the verge to create  a rebrand of SharePoint portal
altogether to reflect your company  standards.

For this you will have to edit the header webpart, and files  from folder &
subfolder(s) in C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\web server
extensions\60 and mainly the Template folder
