I am in the process of setting up a WSS site as an external facing
extranet for non-company employees, I have setup WSS in AD Account
Creation mode and have created a seperate OU which works fine.
However when I add a new user to the portal I have to specify the
new user in the format of an email address username@domain_name
where domain name is our company email domain name. i.e. @acme.com
If I try to add a user with an email address which is not part of
the company domain i.e. 'john.doe@...' I receive the
following error The email address 'john.doe@...' is unknown.
As all my users are going to be external users they will not have
company email addresses. This means that when I create the user
they will not be notifed that they have been added to the portal or
notified of their new password as the email address is wrong. I
hope I am making sense.
Does anyone know how to add users to the portal in this scenario ?
