WSS 3.0 doclib properties mapping against MS word

Using WSS 3.0, I'm having a problem with doclib properties mapping against MS
word.

I first made 4-5 doclibs on to which I was able to map doclib meta data against
MS word fields using Word's QuickParts/Document Property-function. But, all of a
sudden when creating doclibs the Document Property-menu is greyed out and
disabled.

Anyone faced the same?
