I am running SPS w/out SP1. I have recently installed the import and
export tools from the Resource kit. I want to create a new portal
but now I can not. When I try to create it, during the creation
process an error pops up - "Class not registered". The sharepoint
portal creation fails. I checked the event log and find - Event ID:
20485, with discription "Workspace Creation - An index could not be
created. Class not registered."

I found in one of the support pages a suggestion that to fix this
problem, make sure that the Default Web Site in IIS has the IP
Address set to (All Unassigned). I did and it was already set
correctly. Retried portal creation - still no luck.

I am trying to avoid rebuilding SPS and IIS. This problem may be
related to import or export tool installation. Perhaps a bad DLL?
