Workflow in Document Library

Asked By: Quintin Sweeney         Date: Dec 03, 2005      Category: Sharepoint      Views: 1756

Is there a way to implement workflow to a document library withough
creating custom event handlers? Maybe as a Web part or a property on
the doc library? The standard workflow processes such as approval,
rejection, and pend would be sufficient. There seems to be a little
documentation on this for SPS 2001 but nothing for SPS2003 with WSS.
Any ideas/suggestions are appreciated.

Sure, you could build your own Web Part and use the document  library for storage only. It’s a fair amount of work and personally I would just use a pre-built workflow  tool like Nintex or something. The development effort isn’t worth the return, but you have to make that call.

echo: , its a bit pricey to implement  things like that on your own unless you already have the resources for it.
