Windows Authentication Not Working Properly...

Asked By: Ramsey Mcleod         Date: Dec 19, 2007      Category: Sharepoint      Views: 598

When I hit a site that uses Windows authentication, I am prompted for
authentication. Once I supply the authentication information, the site
works as expected. I am logged on as a proper windows user
(DOMAIN\Administrator) so I don't think I should be prompted for
authentication. I am not sure what to change to eliminate this
behavior.

Any suggestions?

If you add the URL of the SharePoint Server (the one you
access in the browser) into the Local Intranet zone within Internet Explorer
you should not get prompted  for authentication.
