Windowing in .NET Web Parts

Asked By: Samir    Date: Dec 30    Category: Sharepoint    Views: 653

We are writing web parts using .NET. Does anyone know how to
reference the parent window of the web part? We need to know how to
force the display into the same IE session instead of opening a new
window? We want windowing/sessions to work the same as a quick links
web part works, i.e., when you click on a link, you do not have
another instance of IE open in your task bar. It opens in the same
window with an active back button to return to the previous window.

If we remove the piece of .NET code that opens a new window, of
course the display goes within the web part itself. This is OK
sometimes, but in a of cases we need the full window. We're trying
to limit the number of IE sessions in the task bar.
