Win FX with Sharepoint

Asked By: Nicholas Scott         Date: Nov 10, 2006      Category: Sharepoint      Views: 157

I am trying to do a small research on building a workflow solution on Sharepoint 2003 using win FX. I am not sure about how to go along with it since I have no idea about how to go ahead to implement it. I came to know that Sharepoint 2007 uses Win FX as the baseline engine for the workflow. How would appreciate if some can put light on that. Secondly is there any possibilty of building Sharepoint 2007 workflow and pluging it in Sharepoint 2003.

I've only tried WF in WSS v3. There isn't any reason why it won't
work in WSS v2 or SPS 2003 but the infrastructure for maintaining state
and responding to task events will be difficult to recreate. While I
think that it can be done, I also think that you will be in for an
uphill battle.

Kinda like trying to security trim the WSS v2 interface. You are months
ahead to simply upgrade to WSS v3 later this year.

One thing to consider: SPS2003 won’t run in .NET 2.0… so if you’re looking to do this, you’re going to be limited to WSS v2.
