Why do things have to be complicated?

Date: Sep 17    Category: Sharepoint 2010    Views: 1420

I understand that the Enterprise Collaboration Portal is no longer available, so
I tried a recommendation to use a blank site and build from there. That's all
well and good but how do I integrate the Enterprise Search Center with the fornt
page of the portal site?

How do I change Search that is on the default front page which defaults to
'/_layouts/OSSSearchResults.aspx' so that it uses the Enterprise Search Center.

I tried putting a 'People Search Box' web part on the from page and target the
Search Center but it did not allow any input. I ended up putting a link to
Peaple Search on the page.

Tell how SharePoint 2010 is an improvement.

Change the Site collection search settings (Site Actions > Site Settings >
Site Collection Administration > Search Settings link. Enable Custom Scopes
and input the address of the Search Center Pages library. You can also
change the default search results page here.
