Which programming language?

For programming SharePoint web parts, and asp.net in general, which is the best language to use?

You can choose C#, VB.NET, or any of a host of other languages. However,
most go with C# or VB.NET based upon their background.

Is one considered better than the other, or is it just a matter of preference? Also looking into the future, which was is going to be of more value?

They are both pretty much the same. However, the majority of
examples, demos, and code snippets you will find are written in C#.

Any language  that can compile to a .NET assembly is fine, but generally VB.NET
or C# is used.

Of course English is good, but if you're fluent with Esperanto you can also use
