Is there a way to get rid of the /pages/ folder or easily setup a redirect so that if someone types in blah.com/network.aspx it will forward to /pages/network.aspx

Thank you, Kurt

In my opinion, it's not worth doing that. But if you want, you can create blah.com/network.aspx manually through sharepoint designer, then add "content editor web part" into it, then redirect  the request to "/pages/network.aspx".

sharepoint provides quite a lot of wonderful built-in features, but we'd better follow its rules, to make things simple.
