Webparts across main to sublevel sites

Is there a way for me to display on my Main Site Default.aspx a
webpart that was created in a subsite to include all its information.
I dont seem to be able to view webpart on other sites within itself.
I'm trying to display events that were created on the subsite back on
the main.

I'm using WSS and Frontpage2003.

I posted four ways to display list/library content out of context (from
another Web) on my blog. Two clunky MS Web Part (Page Viewer and Web
Capture) and two DVWPs (using FrontPage's Add to Catalog or calling the
built-in SharePoint Lists.asmx Web Service). I like the last one.
