Webpart deployment

Asked By: Salvatore    Date: Sep 13    Category: Sharepoint    Views: 503

I am just a newbie to SharePoint Portal Server (SPS). To begin with it I have
created a free trial account at http://ammad.sharepointsite.com

After getting a little bit understanding, I have created a very simple web part
and now wanted to import it to http://ammad.sharepointsite.com. I imported the
.dwp file and was able to see the icon of my webpart but as the actuall dll was
not imported, nothing was appearing on site when i dragged and droped the web
part.

Can any body help me out how to actually import dll + .dwp files (all related
files) to my site http://ammad.sharepointsite.com?

You will need to contact your ISP for this. In general, this requires
administrative access to the server  OS to install custom web  part assemblies.
There are tools available to help  automate the process, but eventually you have
to get the system administrator involved and they can tell you if they allow
custom assemblies and the method they prefer for delivery.
