Web Part Wierdness..

Asked By: Caitlin    Date: Oct 09    Category: Sharepoint    Views: 619

I have an approve/reject view on an announcement list.
On that view, I added a web part which would check to see if the
user is in one of two site groups.
If the user is not in one of those, then the user is kicked out of
the view.
If the user is in one of those groups, then the web part modifies
the view's query (SPView.Query) depending on which group they are in.

That all works fine... except...
When the query is applied, all the formatting for the view gets
completly messed up. All my grouping and ordering is gone. Not only
that, but if I take the other web part off the page, the view is still
messed up.

I wanted to apply a filter (like you can from the modify settings and
columns) instead of doing a query, but could find no way to do that
through code.

Any thoughts, suggestions or ideas?

Ok.. I figured it out.. Sort of.. I just have to apply  the formatting
in the query. Which leaves me with another question.. Is there any
detailed CAML quick reference around? The MSDN one is pretty bad. I
need to figure out how to group  and sort by multiple fields.
