Web Part Security

Asked By: Isabel    Date: Apr 16    Category: Sharepoint    Views: 1177

I would like to hide a web part if you do not have reader
security access. Under Content, I made a new web part then copied
HTML into the web part. This web part HTML only displays a link and
icon to another application.

I went to Portal and looked around there and found an HTM
document that has the same web part name. The only problem is that
the security settings is setup for Deny. This is a problem because I
would have to deny the entire company and then remove individual
users. Also, removing any group that the users might be in.

I could not figure out how to hide the web part. So I tried
something different.

I made an HTML document and copied it to a folder and applied
the proper security setting to that. If you did not have security
settings to this folder an error message would appear in the web part.
