Web part permissions problem

Asked By: Cedric    Date: May 11    Category: MOSS    Views: 934

I was away for a week and when I come back my colleagues are
experiencing all sorts of problems with the little MOSS site I have
created. They have various levels of access to the site depending on who
they are but when they open the first page some web parts display the
following message:

"Unable to display this Web Part. To troubleshoot the problem, open this
Web page in a Windows SharePoint Services-compatible HTML editor such as
Microsoft Office SharePoint Designer. If the problem persists, contact
your Web server administrator."

Some web parts seem to work okay. The ones that fail include "Top Sites"
and "Useful Links". However, the "CEWP" and rss ones still seem to be
working. When I login as administrator everything is okay. I could do a
restore from a week ago or so I guess but is there a better way. I don't
really know for certain when it all went wrong as I was abroad. This is
MOSS 2007. I have opened the web page in SharePoint Designer but there
doesn't appear to be anything obviously wrong.
