Web Page viewer in same window

Asked By: Evan    Date: Feb 04    Category: Sharepoint    Views: 2521

Does anyone have much knowledge of the Web Page Viewer webpart (or
something similar).

I have a CF application that lives out on the internet. I want to
create a Sharepoint web internally, use a page viewer webpart to display
the internet page on the site.

Everything works great the first time you go to the site, but as soon as
you click on something in the page viewer web part, the browser leaves
sharepoint page and goes out to full-browser to the internet
application.

Does this make sense?

Basically I want to display this external website within a web-part and
have the navigation of that site work within that same web-part without
spawning new windows or leaving the team site.

Is this possible?

That doesn't sound like a Page Viewer web  part problem. It
sounds like that the CF application  is either targeting a named or specific
window or the hyperlinks are simply set to open in a different target. If
the hyperlinks in the application are set to open hyperlinks using "_self"
that should do it.

Are you using the WPV as the only web  part on the page? What is the complete url
of the link that you click?

Yes it is the only web-part  on the page. I used a blank site  template
to create the wss page. (this is ver 2.0)

The link I click  inside the web-viewer is from an external  page. When
it opens, it stays in the same browser  but leaves the team  site (ie. The
quicklaunch and menus/banners are gone.

I would like it to just stay on the team-site if possible.

My guess, since you didn't provide the complete url of the llink that gets
clicked is that the link contains a target="_Top" directive.
