web file properties

I have a document library on SPS that contains Excel documents. We
have no problem opening or saving the document when modified, however,
after it saves, a pop up box asks for web file properties such as
Owner, Description and Status.

My question is does anyone know of a way to disable this popup? Is it
an Excel popup or a Sharepoint popup?

required columns on the document  library? sounds like someone customized the library, go to "modify settings and columns" and you should see the 3 fields.

This is caused by adding fields in a library, but not necessarily required fields. This will happen if they are marked as required or not.
