WCM Latency Issue with page library

Asked By: Noah    Date: Mar 18    Category: Sharepoint    Views: 825

I have a newsroom site; the page library library contains about 350 pages (news
articles). Each page takes about 5+ seconds to render. If I reduce the pages
count to 50, the render time is great. As I add more pages, render time

Question: Is there a known issue regarding performance related to number of
items in a page library? Ways to optimize?

Are you sayin that when you select a particular page  (by clicking its link),
it takes that long to render? That seems highly unusual.

How big are these pages? Do they contain a lot of web parts, or other
complex content?

Indeed. I'm gutting the page  layout of all user controls to see if the problem
might be buried in one (or more) of them. I'm starting to wonder if maybe some
of these controls could be optimized. Though, Atul posted earlier that MS
recmds limiting page libraries to 100. I don't yet know where this rec. comes

split page  library into multiple views.

MS recommendations is 200 but it performs great till 100.
