Warm Up Site utility

Asked By: Lukas    Date: Jan 21    Category: Sharepoint    Views: 1268

There is another utility on codeplex http://www.codeplex.com/SPWakeUp to
'wake up' your SharePoint sites after an app pool recycle. Not sure who
was looking for a solution like this.

If you try it, let us know how it works.

If you don't want to warm  up the sharepoint  site, you can also try to
disable the recycle  app. pool.

I downloaded it and modified it as stated on Codeplex. I put the
files in the BIN folder. I set up a Scheduled Task to run this script
over night after my recycle  time and kicked it off now to see what
happens. I had set a log file to be generated on the C:\. It did take
30-35 minutes to run, but it worked great! Our recycle time is around
1:30a avg. for all of the app  pools, so it should be fine.

By the way, Ben, I was the one who had aske you about that solution
