VPN Authentication problem?

Asked By: Keely    Date: Dec 06    Category: Sharepoint    Views: 1505

We have users that are unable to get to our Sharepoint Intranet pages
while they use a VPN. Basically the server does not see the VPN as
an acceptable browser and pops a security box to the user. Even when
the user fills out the box correctly, they can't get in. Any ideas
on how to fix this?

Is this an ipsec vpn  or ssl vpn?

We use the cisco ipsec client-based vpn and have no problems whatever.
I'm not a vpn or networking guru, just a user, but...

I'm not sure what this security  box that pops  up is all about, other
than the vpn does need to authenticate you. Many of the vpns can
actually pass your windows credentials if configured correctly. We don't
do that, but we do use the windows authentication  for vpn access. After
that the vpn basically decrypts the packet and changes the originating
ip to a local one inside the firewall.
