virus that automatically closes the browser as soon as the page is finished rendering

Has anyone heard of a virus that automatically closes the browser as soon as the page is finished rendering in the browser? I’m experiencing this problem and since I can’t keep a browser window open, I’m unable to check Symantec and other virus-related sites. I’m running Windows XP SP2 RC2.

I just heard on the radio-- 5 minutes ago-- that there is a new virus  that hurts Browsers. Is brand new. Symantec rates it a 4+ out of a max of 5.

Kind of a Catch22, huh?!-- cant get to Symantec cause Browser is broken-- cant fix Browser cause cant use Browser!

What if you set the Internet Zone security level to HIGH? Or manually disable Java, JavaScript, and ActiveX?
