Virtual Roots

Asked By: Wayne    Date: Aug 10    Category: Sharepoint    Views: 647

Has anyone found the actual path for the virtual roots that
SharePoint Portal Server creates? Although the site is running the
IIS logs are getting full of errors because the path of the virtual
roots cannot be found.

That's a known benign error. You can ignore those event logs.

Are you referring to this error?

The server  was unable to add the virtual  root '/test' for the directory
'\\.\backofficestorage\localhost\SharePoint Portal
Server\workspaces\test' due to the following error: The system cannot
find the path  specified. The data is the error code.

My crystal ball tells me that you are getting one of these errors  for
each of the workspaces you have on your SPS server every time you
reboot. And, if you go into ISM, there are red stop signs on each of the
SPS workspaces. Correct?
