View of WebPart

Asked By: Siddhi    Date: Aug 13    Category: Sharepoint    Views: 532

I am new to SPPS 2003 and as per client we are required to change the view of
WebPart which is visible in the main Portal window.

The web part "Links for you" shows list of documents with its short description.
Now we want that, it should display Document Name, Its author name, Published
Date, Last Modified Date and also do sorting on this....

Help me how do I create web part for this.....

Also give me some good links on how to programmatically/webpart we can customize
SPPS 2003

U can create a new view  and u can show the required fields on the view.
www.sharepointcustomization.com/default.aspx

the above site is good for customization and creating web parts.

I think you can remove that web part and create a new webpart
zone with the list of documents you need. If im correct in your
question, try to insert a dataview from the data menu and in gallery,
select the sharepointlist you want, click and select show data,
select the fields you want in order and hit insert dataview. Your
list will be added in the web part zone accordingly. Then select the
web part click the table icon and go sort and group. Now select the
field that has to be sorted.
Think this would help you if i didnt misintepret your question.

Just go to the Links list itself, create the view  you want, then return
to the "Links For You" Web Part and change its properties to use the new
view.
