View All Site Content and Recycle Bin

Asked By: Chandrak    Date: Dec 26    Category: Sharepoint    Views: 4384

I have 2 questions:

1. Is there a way to remove View All Site Content but not for all users? Say,
just hide from the VISITORS (and CONTRIBUTORS) group. Leave it for the OWNERS.
2. Can the Recycle Bin be removed?

Regarding the link that waqas posted, you can use that code without
having to "install" anything.

Just create a content  editor web part and hide  it, then go to the
source code of the web part and put:

That will hide the "View all site  content" for that one page.

Yes, there is a way to show or hide the "View all site content" by
user group, but it involves audiences (in SSP in central admin). So,
for example, if I want the Human Resources group  to be the only
department that can see the View all site content, then I have to
create an audience for everyone BUT those members of the Human
Resources department (I'll call it "Not HR". Then, for that Content
Editor web part that you put on the site, in the Advanced section of
the web part toolpane, you can set the audience to "Not HR".

So, the result is that everyone in the Not HR group has the "View all
site content" hidden!!
