Verifying op backups

Asked By: Theresa Kennedy         Date: Feb 12, 2010      Category: Sharepoint      Views: 141

I need some feedback very quickly : when you do a backup, do you
verify the content and how do you do it ?
I can't afford to do a restore, and 'loose' some documents.
Does anyone has experiences with restores ? Are they relyable ? Is
version history intact ? And what do you check ?

There is no way I know to verify a backup  unless you restore  it to a
machine. I have not lost any data to date, but I also tell my clients
that they should have a basic machine with same software that they can
do a trial restore. Most often it seams that restores  are problematic if
you do not have the same version of SP.
