"User Profile Service Application" can not be provisioned

Asked By: Tyson    Date: Mar 16    Category: MOSS    Views: 1879

I am setting up a moss 2010 farm and I get the following error when I configure
the services:

The following errors were encountered while provisioning services: The service
application(s) for the service "User Profile Service Application" could not be
provisioned because of the following error: Cannot drop the procedure
'pSProcStandard', because it does not exist or you do not have permission.
Correlation ID: d64305d6-caa0-4310-9de6-afb479888f20

Google gives me nothing. I am running SQL Server 2005 sp3, however, I am running
it on 2003 R2 server, not 2008 R2.

Has anyone seen this before?

What do the trace logs reveal? Event logs?

Does the UPS service account have DBO access to the user profile database?
I've also had to use the farm account for the user profile service to get this
to work. Are you using the UI or Windows PowerShell to provision?

You might also check that the farm account is an administrator of the service
application - I've had to do this as well.
