User Profile Import Appears to be Hanging

Has anyone ever encountered an issue where the user profile import takes
an inordinately long time to complete? I started the import over an hour
ago, and it should only be pulling in about 300 accounts, but it
continuously says "Importing (2)" as the import status.

What Hofix level are you at? I had an issues with KB 919175 which broke my import  and crawling because I had an empty noise word file. Is your farm functioning fine otherwise?

You may be on to something. The two front-end web servers are running SP2, but the search server is running SP1.
