User not showing up in Site User Information - WSS

In WSS, we have a group that has been added to a site. A user from that group
have visited the site and opened up a list item. That user's information is not
showing up in the site's User Information page. He is also not list in the
Assigned To drop down in the Task list.

From my testing, the user  Information field populates only users
listed at (.../_layouts/1033/user.aspx) and not
from (.../_layouts/1033/userinfo.aspx).

Have you looked at ../_layouts/1033/siteusrs.aspx
