User mapped a sub folder in shared documents to the shared documents

One of my users was trying to setup a sub folder under the shared
documents web part. When doing this, she inadvertently mapped it to the
home page. Now when she clicks on the folder it brings her to the home
page where all the web parts are displayed. When I tried to delete the
sub folder, the entire shared folders document library was deleted. Any
suggestions on how to detach and delete this sub folder would be greatly
appreciated.

This is a WSS 3.0 installation.
