User groups/permissions

Asked By: Rikki    Date: Jan 01    Category: Sharepoint    Views: 689

I have two wss 3.0 sites that I need to give all the contributers of one site
access to another site, is there an easy way to do this or do I have to add them
individually.

These are both sites that do not inherit permissions from the parent site, but
have the same parent site.

If I'm remembering correctly, you can add  one sharepoint group as a member to
another sharepoint group. So say you have site  A, Site B and Site C. Site A is
the top level site and the other two are subsites. I think you can add the Site
A Members group to the Site B readers group, and so on.

sorry, no you can't add  a SharePoint group as a member of
another SharePoint group. You would need to use AD groups for this
approach.

groups are visible across the site  collection, so you can go
into the permissions  of site A and grant the site B members group
read writes to site A, and vice versa.
