Usage Reporting in SharePoint

Asked By: Conrad Mueller         Date: Jan 20, 2008      Category: Sharepoint      Views: 342

Can anyone suggest a good way to get Usage Reports from SharePoint that
go beyond the default reports as these are only good for 30 days of
data? Any freeware or 3rd party products that you can recommend would
be great.

You can see those reports  in SharePoint Designer for more than 30 days.
The UI limits them to 30 days, not the data.

I wrote small prog to dump them on a daily basis and then import them
using SSIS, you can do some nice trending then.

Another option is to run the IIS logs through a log parser such as logpareser or
analog.

MAPILab provides a very good  SharePoint usage  reporting solution: MAPILab Statistics for SharePoint. Detailed reports  on visitors, documents, lists, search and more. You can try free trial version or online demo: http://www.mapilab.com/sharepoint/statistics/.

It will allow you to view and analyze data of any time period.
