usage analysis process - wss 2.0

Asked By: Dejuan Solomon         Date: Oct 12, 2007      Category: Sharepoint      Views: 312

This question pertains to WSS 2.0.

Our SharePoint Timer service failed to start after a server reboot. As
a result, a few days of usage logs did not process, albeit the STS log
files still hold the information. Starting up the timer service,
SharePoint only processes the STS log files from the day it was
restarted and does not process the days that were skipped. Is there a
way to forcibly get SharePoint to process STS log files from the missed
days?

I have had this happen to me twice. Both times I called PSS and both times they
told me it was not possible to parse through old information. As long as you
keep everything running for the next 30 days  it won't matter anyway as it rolls
over anway.
