URL name for Sharepoint

We're going to be using Sharepoint as our new Intranet server. The
users will be accessing the server via http://intranet.fr.com. The
server's netbios name is something different. When we try to access a
folder via the intranet.fr.com name and change the security on that
folder, we get the following error:

"The program cannot open the required dialog box because it cannot
determine whether the computer named "intranet.fr.com" is joined to a
domain".

Any ideas?

We have SPS Service Pack 1 applied to the server.

We've also had this problem, after some dialogue with MS we have installed
the SP1 for the client tools (even on XP) and it seems to be working..

Sorry for the reply to myself. We recently applied SP3 to the Windows
2000 server. In q article below Msonsext.dll is mentioned and has the
following attributes:

20-Feb-2002 10.145.3914.5 1,288 KB Msonsext.dll

The server in question has the following attributes:

29-Feb-2001 10.145.4629.0 1,318 KB Msonsext.dll

Does anyone know if Win2K SP3 adds a new version of this file?

A development server (Win2K SP2, SPS SP1) that I have has the
following attributes:
23-Mar-2001 10.145.3914.3 1,318 KB Msonsext.dll

Can someone email me and tell me what version of msonsext.dll you're
using that works in the scenario below? I'd appreciate it.
