Urgent backup & restore

Please give me how to step by step to restore my portal,
my server was hardware error and I have backup everyday used sharepoint
backup&restore tool, but now i cann't restore my portal to other places.. (sites
content & database sites schema) please step by step..I,m new for this
case..txs a lot...
