Uploading many pics at once

Asked By: Jedidiah    Date: Mar 09    Category: Sharepoint    Views: 820

On my Office2003 machine I am having trouble uploading many pictures
at
once.

When I click on "add picture", I do get the Upload Mult Pic button,
but
when clicked I do NOT get the Java script which presents me with
the "many check boxes" form.

Please--- see this document library which conatins a Word doc with
many page prints, to fully understand what I am asking!

(if asked for a password, just click cancel-- you will get in. I
have
anonymous access turned on for this WSS site, but I am still working
out the kinks).

My advise here at my work is always to upload  multiple
images by clicking 'Explorer View' (on the first
screen in your Word document.)

That gives you the opportunity to drag and drop images
into the library  and is far easier than uploading  them
one by one.

If you have insufficient Javascript rights, you may
need to check  your Internet Options, Security settings
and set them a little lower.

Corporate has turned Explorer view off, for this extranet SharePoint
portal-- too bad, huh.

I will investigate the "insufficient Javascript rights" thought.

I looked thru the document  that you posted. It looks to me like your
browser isn't running the ActiveX control needed to interact with
multiple images. Do you have Office 2003 installed on your client? I
think that it is necessary to use this tool.

I thought it was looking for a Jave component, but it certainly could
be an active X component.

I have tried it from a VARIETY of client PCs-- some of which are
Office2003 and MS Windows XP.

Funny thing is-- one person CAN do it- and so far he is the only one
in our company! We ahve a Corporate policy of COE-Common Operating
Environment- but that commonness lasts about 2 minutes, when new
programs are loaded.
