Uploading Large File problems

I have been trying to get a 260Mb file into a SharePoint library and it crashes Sharepoint. I increased the upload limit. Does anyone have experience with large files and what can SPS handle?

If i can recall it right, there is one other parameter that you need to
change - request time out.

try here -
<ServerName>:<AdminPort>/DspSettings.aspx
for example http://AQ-SPSDev:1099/DspSettings.aspx
