Upgrade SQL 2000 to 2005 with WSS 2.0

We're planning on upgrading the SQL on our Sharepoint Services server from
2000 to 2005. Is there a good guide on how to do this without too much
trouble. Has anyone had trouble doing this?

Also, with WSS 3.0 out now, is there any big gain upgrading to that also, or
should we wait for SP1 to fix all the bugs?

You can upgrade  your SQL Server to 2005 but only on WSS 2.0 with sp2. and
needed optionally Framework 2.0
