Upgrade sharepoint 12 site DB to sharepoint 14

Asked By: Darren    Date: Jan 23    Category: MOSS    Views: 1203

I have a sharepoint 14 farm and am looking for a way to upgrade a single site
collection DB. It's being migrated in from another farm and I'm only interested
in getting the content in, not worried about the look or feel. It's an OOB site.
I'm guessing there is a way to upgrade the DB using PS but can't find anything
about it. Most everything I find is for upgrading the entire farm not a singe

As long as the original farm is SharePoint 2007 SP2 or better you should be
able to just attach the database to a web application in the new farm. See
the following for instructions.

You can attach the DB via Windows PowerShell or stsadm.exe and it should
upgrade. You can first test the attach/upgrade using 'Test-SPContentDatabase',
or just go for it with 'Mount-SPContentDatabase' or 'stsadm.exe -o addcontentdb'
