Unghosted, Hidden, corrupt list templates

Asked By: Ray Jimenez         Date: Sep 23, 2007      Category: Sharepoint      Views: 411

I have a site that contains lists that refer to list templates that no
longer exist. I try to find the list templates in the gallery but the
instances that must exist are hidden and they shouldn't still be there
at all! In fact the list template has been undeployed from the farm so
the XML no longer exists in the 12 hive.

Whenever I access the list settings to delete the list I get an error
that feaure x is not enabled for list template y. The list template ID
seems to be a reference to an unghosted list template that I would like
to remove. When I try to remove the list it says that there are other
components that refer to it so I can't.

Anyway, is there a way to remove the lists, list templates, and all
other unghosted objects that might reference it? This is our primary
portal site that has increased exponentially in content and having dead
lists is quite an eye sore.
