UNC path as link in SharePoint

Asked By: Wyatt    Date: Mar 18    Category: Sharepoint    Views: 5992

I have been tasked with something that requires me to figure out a way to have a
UNC path as a link in SharePoint. I can find all kinds of articles about how to
link to SharePoint using UNC pathing, but there really isn't anything about
putting a UNC path in SharePoint. All I need is for SharePoint to not assume
that a UNC path is a file. Every time I enter a link such as
\\prtserver\prnt001\ as a link it gets converted to file://prtserver/prnt001.
How do I get SharePoint to just leave the link as is?
