Unable to see all the views in the "list views"

Asked By: Phenil Shetye         Date: May 06, 2010      Category: Sharepoint      Views: 566

When I want to display a particular view in a web part in a sharepoint
web site, I choose "modify shared web part" which opens(redirects to) a
new window which provided me with list of views to choose from.

The problem is, I am not able to see all the views that I have created
in the library. The number of view displayed in the "<current view>"
dropdown also varies from page to page.

I am encountering this kind of problem for the first time. If anyone is
familiar with this kind of situation, I will appreciate if you can
provide a solution.

The number of views you can see in the drop-down box apparently is limited to 50. The default answer to this limit is to "edit the current view" which isn't ideal if you want to use all those views and more. We're trying to implement a work-around that I'll post if it works. I think we might have a design problem where "views" are not intended to be individual lists. You can see other answers if you query:

limit on number of views shown in list web part
