"Unable to validate data" error when adding users to my Portal Site

I am trying to add users as administartors of my WSS sites. I find the
users with no problem, but then when I click next I get an Error page
saying Unable to Validate data.

Please help, I don't know what I have done to cause this error.

see if this users nt account or emailId is still valid...check if he has
duplicate accounts and the domain name..... the other thing would be to delete
him in site collection admin page and add him back again...

Most probably you are having some domain related
issues.

What is the version of your .NET ? You will have problem if you are on .NET 2

You changed any code access security things

yes i am using .NET v2 , how could i solve this ?

i have changed my domaion from http://portal to
http://portal.aecl.com but i dont sure if this will cause any problem.
